Visit the madDog web site at <http://www.mygale.org/11/maddog> to get regular updates and informations about MicroWar.
µWar is a Space Invader–style arcade game in the cruel micro-computer industry.
You are an Apple Computer faced to Wintel hordes.
Warning
This is a game under development, all features are not already included, this version is not fully tested on all system software.
You can re-distribute this game but only with ALL the files included in the pack you download.
What's new (1.0 beta 2)
This version, include sfx sounds. It makes the game funnier.
It also include 2 new soacers and bonuses : IBM that deliver PPC with Motorola; and Memory soacer that deliver RAM for your Mac.
Game skill has been enhanced (perhaps too hard, tell me).
How to Play
Move your Mac around at the bottom of the screen using your arrow keys, and fire your weapons (SpaceBar) at the advancing hordes of substandard PC clones that are invading your world. At each level, the PC horde moves faster and faster.
Flying saucers drop bonuses and death marks from the sky: avoid the Microsoft and Intel marks, and rush to collect the Apple and Motorola ones.
Your Mac got 2 Mb of memory at the begining and decrease memory when PC fire hit it.
When you're out of memory, its game over. RAM bonuses let you mount memory.
PC hordes configurations and Flying Soacers bonus follow level chronological order : in 1984 PC are 8086 based with MS-DOS 1, Mac start with 68000 with MacOS 1. The chronology is not accurate, let me know…
System requirement
PowerPC only
MacOS 7.5.5 or higher (MacOS 8 recommanded)
4 Mb of free RAM to run (works with Virtual memory)
QuickTime 2.5 (with Musical Instruments for MIDI music)
require DrawSprocket from Apple (include with the pack)
640x480 screen (15") with at least 256 colors
Know limitations
- Seems to works only with the DrawSprocketLib delivered into the µWar folder (!?)
- not tested on MacOS previous to 7.5.5.
What's next
A Final version with
A smart icon.
A PDF documentation.
No bugs - i hope - and more animations (soacers, bonuses…)
